Weekend with the Folks

My parents were in town for the weekend. My sister finished her PhD (well, actually not till Friday I think) in education at Berkeley, and so it was a big family weekend. The ceremony was ok, speeches were nice, but they hooded every single Masters student and teaching credential student. There most have been 100. There were 50+ PhDs, but luckily only about 35 were actually there. I much preferred my graduation from SIMS. Of course, maybe the fact that I was graduating had something to do with it. But it was more intimate and half as long. And we put our hoods on ourselves. I guess it must be considered a technical skill...

Sunday my parents wanted to bike over the GG bridge to Tiburon. Ever since we took my brother I guess they've wanted to do it. There was some walking up of hills and many breaks, but they made it. Had a nice lunch and a ferry ride back to SF.

So now I'm trying to recover from a lot of running around, but it's not to be as I'm off to Redmond for the day tomorrow and then Denver on Friday.

Better busy than bored though.
